Ganesha My Ganesha!

Hari Om Parents!

This Sunday Sep 17th, we celebrated Ganesha in many fun ways.

1.  Ganesh Pooja : We started by doing pooja to Ganesha with lighting a lamp,Aarti, naivedyam and    song. Its heartening to see the kids enjoying this from this young age.






2. Songs:  We learnt a new song:  Mooshika Vahana
                      We revised Single Tusked Ganapthi song

               Mooshika Vaahana, Modaka Hasta
               Chaamara Karna, Vilambita Sutra
              Vaamana Roopa, Maheshwara Putra,
              Vighna Vinaayaka, Paada Namaste
                  

3.  Lesson:  We revised Ganesha's vahana. We learnt about the different things about Ganeshas image.
                    A rope, an axe, mooshika, lambodara and trunk.
                   Kids learnt this by pointing to Ganesh'a image and sticking a paper trunk on it.



(Homemade dough recipe: 1 cup aata, 1/2 cup salt, 2 table spoons oil, 1/4 th cup warm water)

4. Activity: The kids made a Ganesha from homemade play dough. Look at them proudly showing off their work!




Next week, we will start with Godess Saraswati as Navratri is here. We will start with pooja and learn while having fun with activities. The next class is on Oct 1st. See you all!

Sep 10th Class

Hari Om!

Om Ganeshaya Namah!
The first class with all our Amrutham kids and Ganapathi was a huge success!
We learnt that:
  •  Ganesha has an elephant face
  • We learnt Single Tusked Ganesha Song which explains the meaning of all the different names of Ganesha
  • We learnt the birth story of Ganesha.
  • Then we colored Ganesha and mouse busy reading
  • We ended with the kids getting up and coming to the front of the class and independently selecting the crayons they wanted and even sharing with each other. All important social skills!
