• Birth of Adishankara
• The story of how he was bitten by crocodile and got permission to take sanyasa.
• Kanakadhara Story

Please repeat these stories to them. See if you can get a book for them. There is a very nice telegu movie on Adi Shankara which is entertaining as well.
